The house of Maindo is a recent addition to the Noble Houses. The family had previously been unknown, however three hundred years ago they became known for their creations and philosophers. Up until one hundred years ago, this family had only been a lesser wealthy family. Through the leadership and diplomacy of the First Head of the Maindo Family, Maindo Yasa, they were recognized as the fourth Noble House. When this family rose to power, it pushed out the already struggling Shiba Family and one other Family. The Shiba Family had already been distraught over the loss of it's most prominent member, and having another family rise in wealth was the death blow. Because of the fact that the Shiba Family and one other Noble Family fell because of the rising of the Maindo, relations with the other three noble families are tense. Members of this family are often insulted by the other Nobles because of their new standing. The Maindo Family is often called the 'Lucky Family' due to the nature in which they rose to power.
Members of this family are usually pacifists and considered 'brilliant' by society. The family has only had one head due to it's new status.
A detailed history of the Maindo Family
The first house that the Maindo owned was a small home in the 60th district of Eat Rukongai. It was a large family of eleven. The family consisted of a mother, a father, three sons and five sisters. The middle son was smaller than all his siblings, but he was smarter. When he turned one hundred, he began to tinker with tools the family used to work. The family had a shop that mended clothing. In an attempt to build tools that could be more useful and durable. Eventually, he succeeded in making a sewing machine that ran on water. Because of this miraculous contraption, soon wealthy families were funding his inventions and innovations. Yasa soon gained a reputation as a genius, and all the wealthy families began to purchase his inventions.
After two hundred years of tinkering, the Maindo family was able to move into the second district of East Rukongai. The family's wealth was rising and after one hundred years they were considered a lesser noble family. All of the original eight children had gotten married since the original move to the Second District, and the family had grown three fold with the additions of children. Soon the Maindo family was known for having one of the most lively homes in the first ten districts of East Rukongai.
On the first night of the new year, the father of Maindo Yasa passed away. Traditionally, the eldest son would become the head of the family, however, the family decided Maindo Yasa would be the best choice for family head due to the way he brought the family up to near noble status. Yasa was considered the first head of the family because of the family's new standing. One hundred years after Yasa became the head of the family, his wife, Maindo Yua gave birth to their first child. Over the following two centuries, seven more children were born. The youngest was born forty-four years before the family rose to power as a Noble House.
When his final son was born, Maindo Yasa begun to spend some of the currency the family had earned to build schools in the higher levels of the Rukongai. His mind set was that if children in the upper levels could be taught properly, then the crime rates there would go down. His diplomatic ways were soon noted, and after forty-four years of work, the family became known as a Noble Family.
At the time the Maindo Family became a noble family, two other families were trailing down in class. One had lost their most prominent member, and was declining in spirits due to it. The other family had been declining over the past two hundred years due to a low birth rate because of their selective marriage system. When the Maindo Family because one of the four noble families, many nobles spoke of deceit and sabotage to the two families that had fallen at the time of their rising. The rumors were denied truth by the Maindo Family, and there were no facts backing them. However, most kept telling these stories.
To this day, the Maindo Family is still considered 'Lesser' by the other Nobles. Their wealth and status being credited to their inventions and knowledge. The family is still being led by Maindo Yasa.
