Kido
Those of you who frequent Bleach Rps are probably already familiar with the a standard Kido list and how it works. When a new Kido is registered, it is added to the global Kido list, located here, and any character is free to learn and use it as long as they are of sufficient experience and skill. This goes almost entirely without exception, so very very few characters will be allowed to create Kido that only their character can use; this would be the equivalent of inventing your own Kido from scratch; not easy. Combining Kido to create pseudo-unique effects is another story altogether, but for the moment at least, Custom characters won’t be going there.

Copy and paste the following when creating an addition to the global Kido list. The title of your thread should read “{Kido} by ” and then your character’s name (ie. “{Kido} by Ruide”).
Name:
Class and Number:
Incantation:
Description:
{Descriptive entry goes here}
Name: The Kido’s name; Japanese with English translation is required.
Class and Number: What type of Kido this is, and it’s numerical measure of strength (Hado #30). Do not create a spell who’s class and number are already filled by another spell on the list.
Incantation: The Incantation required to invoke this particular Kido’s effects. Because of their length, we prefer you just list this in English.
Description: This is where you describe the Kido’s effects. Unlike normal abilities, Kido are described less in terms of their strength, because that is determined arbitrarily by their number and the strength of the caster. More important are it’s distinguishing features: what it looks like, how large an area it affects, and what it does. We hope to keep these descriptions relatively short as to not stretch out the global list, so try to be as concise as you can while still tending to the relevant details.
Note: Elemental Hado - It is understood that all Hado are composed of raw energy, be it pseudo-electrical in nature or more basic as in abilities like Cero and Hado #30. Do not try to create Hado with true elemental affects, because this undermines the people who actually use elemental zanpakuto.
Ginto
The Ginto list, located here, works exactly like the Kido list, albeit a tad more restrictive. There are obviously going to be fewer Ginto than there are Kido because of Ginto’s dependency on items, and because their effectiveness is solely dependent on the caster, leaving much more room for redundancy than the shinigami’s numbered setup. As with Kido, custom, exclusive Ginto are disallowed for all but the most experienced and specialized characters.

Name: The spell’s name, in Japanese (and/or German) with English translation.
Incantation: The Incantation required to invoke this particular Ginto’s effects. Because of their length, we prefer you just list this in English.
Description: This is where the Ginto’s effects are described. Unlike Kido, Ginto spells always, always originate on the Ginto themselves, though they may extend/reach/burst outward from there. Remember that all Ginto spells incorporate either pure energy or solidified spiritual material, and should not create fire/water/etc.
Racial Abilities
The Racial ability listings, located here, work in largely the same way as the prior two lists, but are separated between the various races as far as who can use what, and are generally limited a bit more than Kido and Ginto, simply because each race has so few abilities. Personalized abilities are more common in this area, but an exclusive ability must have a good reason for being exclusive, such as a distinct connection to your character dynamic, personality, or core abilities.

Name:
Class:
Range:
Description:
{Descriptive entry goes here}
Name: The name of your ability; this is generally in Japanese, but can also be Spanish for Arrancar or German for Quincy, and should include an English translation.
Class: As with core abilities: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary, or Utility. If you are unsure where a particular ability fits in, ask and the staff will assign it one based on its effects (or expect us to point it out if you label it incorrectly).
Range: Generally, this is Short, Medium, Long, or Personal (if the ability effects only the user’s body). Abilities that require actual physical contact to function may be labeled “Touch”.
Description: This is, again, the real effect of the ability. These vary greatly from race to race, but I would like to address a number of things to keep in mind when applying for this sort of ability. See Below:
- Abilities of this nature come in two types; normal racial abilities, and Sub-abilities, variations of existing racial abilities. Sub-abilities are generally easier to get approved, because they go along better with specific specialties; Utsusemi, from the Racial abilities listing, is an example of a Sub-ability.
- Regardless of what you’re creating, try to be subtle about it. racial abilities are called “Minor” for a reason; only rarely, in cases like Shunko, are they used as a primary means of combat.
- Do not copy the racial abilities of other races. Humans, who tend to emulate the other races, are a light exception to this rule, but I would rather not see a shinigami equivalent to hierro, for example, simply for the sake of staving off racial monotony.
- As with Kido and Ginto, Elemental racial abilities are not allowed. The exception to this is for characters who are creating personalized, exclusive variants, for example, a Shinigami with a fire-type zanpakuto creating a subtle fire-style variant of another ability.
- As with Core abilities, every racial ability requires some degree of focus, or at least a calm mind. Nothing is in effect all the time.
- Each ability must make some sort of sense to the race or character it is being registered for; Reiatsu/Aura abilities generally fit all races, but Arrancar, as a race, are extremely unlikely to develop any sort of Zanjutsu-based ability, because their fighting style as a whole revolves around hand-to-hand combat over swordsmanship (which is why they have Hierro)
- All the rules of core ability registration also apply to racial ability registration, as far as content is concerned. No illusions, mind-benders, stat boosters, etc.
Expect us not to have much mercy on these sorts of abilities, because they’re not just being registered for you; they’re being registered for every character that is created in your race. After a certain point, it will be easier to create personalized variants (though only one or two of these will be allowed per character under normal circumstances). If you do create a personalized racial ability, mark it, as restricted abilities are marked in the ability listings (Change the color if it suits you, but keep it something conspicuous so we can see it). This also applies for Kido and Ginto.
