Centuries turned and time passed and tastes shifted and minds unfortunately matured, but Sachiko hoped that two things in the world never changed: the first was the humans' adoration of all things bright, loud, colorful and boisterous, and second was her adoration of their adoration of all things bright, loud, colorful and boisterous. The first few times she had come to their world, she had been overwhelmed and intrigued by everything and her primitive mind had gone into overload. The girl who had grown up in a world full of nothing but cold and hunger and pain hadn't known what to do in this world of excess and pleasure and both combined. She considered herself of slightly sterner stuff now, and now she looked at it all with a child's wonder, a teenager's zeal, and an adult's desires.[/size][/blockquote]
The details of how she had come to have the night off and her gigai in working condition (with both eyes working!) were of absolutely no consequence. All that mattered was that she was here. Normally, she would have chosen a time when there was some kind of festival or party or big event she could sneak into, but the timing of this day off had been...well, they hadn't been preplanned. In fact, she would dare to say that this plan had been almost completely unplanned and...may or may not have been unauthorized as well. She would never tell. She had merely jumped at the opportunity when it had come, and the luxury of having a choice had been taken away from her in a way that, despite being quite domesticated at this point, she was unused to.
In spite of that little set-back, however, one choice she would always have was where to go. It'd only taken a dip into her admittedly shaky knowledge of the human world and a bit of asking around before she'd found a place where she didn't have to wait for a party. America was a place she decided was relatively interesting, but she'd been unable to find anyone to accompany her and translate. So, with her budget and curfuew somewhat firmly in mind, she'd chosen a big city in Japan. The wisdom of that choice was yet to be seen...she'd already drifted in and out of three bars, spending at least an hour in each, and was currently trailing after a group of three girls whose names she only vaguely remembered. Saya...ko, Ku...Kur....Kut...su? And...her mind was already soaked with alcohol, as she'd blissfully lost count of how many or what she'd downed that night, but she was fairly certain the last girl's name started with a 'N'. Given her resemblance to someone she knew, Sachiko decided to coin her "Nanao" for the night.
Though she was all too delighted to get lost in the color and noise all around them, she realized that her temporary friends were calling for her attention. She nodded uncertainly at the question of which she heard only the trailing end, and watched all of their faces light up. Shoe-san looked around secretively and, as if hiding some big secret, they all moved closer around her.
"You'll love this place, then!" Saya-something was muttering, and Sachiko didn't protest when the woman took her hand and began to drag her through the streets. Her companions stayed close to her, "Nanao" on her left side and Shoe-san on her right. She was a bit unused to having full eyesight, and stumbled a bit as she tried to navigate the crowd without having to compensate for her handicap. The untold number of shots, bottles, and glasses probably didn't help either.
She didn't really pay much attention to where they were going, having lived long enough to know the futility of trying to keep track of her own steps. She leaned on one of her friends while the other two tried to convince a skinny girl in a delightfully skimpy outfit to let them in, and only after dragging Sachiko forward and having her very sloppily introduce herself and bow were they allowed through the doors. It took Sachiko a few moments to sort out her thoughts and try and put some semblance of order to her surroundings, and upon doing so, gleefully threw it out again.
Deep, thrumming music combined with lights and colors that were appropriately dimmed, giving the staff and dancers of the bar the proper mood with which to do their...thing. Oh. It was a gay bar. Well, Sayatsu had been right...it was something Sachiko would enjoy. Until her domestication, she had never been one to deny herself pleasures of the flesh, and no one had ever taught her to be discerning when it came to sex. On any given day, Sachiko might have been reserved in her ogling, and certainly if any superiors were around, but today she was a naughty child who'd snuck out, so no such restrictions were in place. She was all too happy to forget all about work, responsibility, Japanese squeamishness and all sense of time in the world of tantalizing flesh and colorful lace.
But eventually, there was a tiny voice in her head that whispered that a moment of silence and cold air may be good for her, and she shook off her companion's with a fervent promise to return, leaving behind an unknown article of clothing to ensure her return, and slipped out into the street, welcoming the comparatively chilly air against her fevered skin and using it to good use to attempt to chase some of her intoxication away. She hadn't had much since entering the bar, but she was sure she'd had some. Her self-control was too far gone to allow for any other explanation.
She rested her head back against the stone and let the crowd move on without her, counting the minutes until she could go back inside and lose herself again.a note: in regards to sachiko's 'shoe-san', she remembers her name as 'kutsu', the japanese word for 'shoe'
another note: in case i failed to mention it, sachiko is in osaka.
