Apparent Age: 15
Height: 5 ft
Weight: 108 lbs
Eye Color: gray-blue
Hair Color: light brown
Physical Description:
Body: Mikazuki is not a very intimidating figure, by any means. Standing at only 5 feet tall, she’s lucky to find anyone she can look down to. Her legs are short and her waist is long, giving her a look that labels her as “the clumsy teen”. Both her feet and hands are small, even for a petite girl like her. She walks with a confident stride, though, head up, shoulders relaxed, looking the world in the eyes with her soft smile that tells everyone that she’s prepared for anything. Her skin is light yellow that seems to glow with a mellow radiance. Her hollow hole is located in the middle of her throat right above the cross of her neck bones.
Eyes: Her eyes are like twin gray pools of water, deep and sparkling. She has deep set eyes that give her a lazy, almost tired look. But when she smiles, her eyes shine with true amusement unmatched by any other expression. Her emotions truly manifest themselves in her eyes, and one can always tell how she’s feeling through them. Indeed, she could never have a poker face; her eyes would give any hint of emotion away in an instant. Blessed with thick eyelashes, she has received many a compliment for her eyes because her eyelashes make them well-defined.
Hair: Medium length yet wild, her light brown, almost dirty blond hair sometimes seems to have a mind of its own. It resists brushing, preferring to go any way it pleases. Even though it always looks untamed, her hair is unbelievably soft and beautiful in its own ways. In the moonlight of El Desierto Del infinito, it shines with a dark yet beautiful sheen.
Face: Full and youthful, her face is that of many average teens, minus the blemishes. She has red triangular markings under both eyes and high cheekbones. Her nose is sometimes described as “button-like”, and her mouth is wide and plastered with an almost constant relaxed smile. Her teeth are perfectly white and slightly pointed, giving her an animal-like wildness when she grins. Speaking of which, her grin is always wide and sincere, but can be a bit over-the-top at times.
Mask: Resembling a white wolf or, perhaps, a coyote, what remains of her mask is perched atop her head like a hat. Two eyes and a dog-like nose adorn the middle section, and the top part of the mask appears to be pointed wolf ears. The bottom part of the mask features jagged tooth-like rhombuses, with one larger tooth at one end, five smaller in the middle, and another large tooth at the other end, much like a canine dental structure. And finally, on each side of the mask are two small branching off spikes.
Clothes: Mikazuki’s outfit is relatively simple. She wears a white half shirt with long sleeves that nearly cover her hands. The bottom of her half-shirt is ripped and worn, with a shredded up diagonal hemming ending in a triangular point right below her ribs. A black ribbon is tied to each of her limbs, and there’s a black stripe right above her bust. In the middle of that black stripe is a large diamond shaped gem the color of blood that sparkles with a dark aura. She wears white shorts that go down to just above her knees and are very loose, leaving lots of room to run or move with minimal restriction. She’s barefoot, saying that “Anything covering my feet will slow me down”… but really, she just likes the feel of the sand between her toes.
Personal Information
Personality Overview:
Constantly relaxed to the point of being lazy, Mikazuki is an unusual arrancar. Compared to most other arrancar, she seems innocent and distinctly un-hollow-like. She usually only half-pays attention to what others say, listening to their words but purposely not registering the meaning. That way, she can daydream yet still appear to be listening.
Speaking of which, when she’s not doodling in her drawing pad or wandering boredly, she likes to exercise her imagination by daydreaming. Over her years of wandering El Desierto Del Infinito, her imagination has grown considerably. She then filters that imagination into her art, drawing astoundingly complex designs or unbelievably detailed creatures or environments. She loves to draw other hollows or arrancar as well, though she’s very modest about her work.
Smiling and happy-go-lucky, she’s friendly to those she deems nice, but somewhat short and vicious to those she deems mean. To those who are ‘nice’ (or those yet to be judged), she acts like her normal self, relaxed and happy, giggling at her own thoughts and jokes. She listens closely to what they say, though she doesn’t always appear to be listening. She’s all in all nonchalant. Though to the ‘mean’ ones, she’s the complete opposite. She glares daggers at them and makes scathing, usually sarcastic comments. Sometimes she completely ignores what they say with a roll of her gray eyes. Some might say that this is when the hollow side of her comes out. But, that side of her can disappear as quickly as it came if the ‘mean’ ones can somehow redeem themselves with a friendly or acceptable act.
‘Acceptable acts’, by Mikazuki’s standards, include anything amusing or complimenting to her or others. If one gives off the impression of being funny or nice, she’ll buy it. But one wrong move and she reveals her hollow side, if only for a moment or two to glare unapprovingly or pass a snide comment. And “Unacceptable acts”, to her, would be things like laughing at another’s misery and general mean-spiritedness. Any hint of malice of bad intent towards her or others in return brings out her bad side. She has a considerable amount of bitterness and pain bottled up inside, meaning she could explode at any moment. Drawing in her notepad or killing lesser hollows are her forms of release for her hatred.
Like any teenager, Mikazuki complains. A lot. She complains of boredom, she complains of thirst, she complains of hunger (even though she’s not actually hungry), she complains of fatigue. But her main complaint is from boredom. Although she could do a lot- train, kill hollows, draw, look for other arrancar, draw patterns in the sand, mess around or spy on humans in the world of the living, or sleep- she always complains that nothing is exciting since Aizen and Las Noches fell. In fact, boredom is one of her key characteristics. She’s one of the worst travel buddies because of her constant grumbling and complaints.
It’s very easy to tell when she’s sad or in emotional pain, because she hides it in a noticeable way. She grins and laughs at everything, and acts very cheery and over-exaggerated. When asked what’s wrong, she replies that she’s fine, and can’t you tell? However, when asked multiple times, she becomes increasingly impatient, to the point of anger. She’s fine. Everything’s happy and wonderful. So stop asking.
When angered, nothing can stop her. She goes berserk until she gets what she wants, be it the death of someone or attaining an item. She also loses her rational thoughts and all sense of caution, which means she’s vulnerable to well-aimed attacks. Fortunately for her, though, it takes a lot to get her that angry. The only things that’ll really make her that angry are harming her friends or killing someone she was about to kill.
Though she seems like the type of arrancar that stronger, more serious or sadistic arrancar would avoid or kill simply because of her relaxed attitude and general easygoingness, she can change her attitude to fit in with others like that. She secretly shares that love for destruction, so she simply makes it more pronounced when around arrancar like that. To put it simply, deep down inside, she does want to be liked. Although she acts like she doesn’t care either way.
Character Time-line:
Infancy was not a great time in Mikazuki’s life. Her father had deserted her mother, who became ill and died not long after Mikazuki’s birth. So Mikazuki was put up for adoption, but, fortunately for her, she was adopted in less than three months because of her beautiful eyes and quiet disposition. Her new home was a nice, quiet place. Her parents set good morals and strict rules, and she followed them honestly. They were middle-class, living in a nice three room house near the coast. She was an only child, and lived happily and care-free until middle school. That’s when her parents started arguing.
Mikazuki would always hear them. They thought they could hide the quarrels from her by going to their room, but she would always hear it. They would argue about the stupidest things, and it always escalated into one yelling at the other. After she couldn’t listen to it anymore, she’d go out into the part of her yard that had tall grass and curl up, sobbing and crying where no one could see or hear her. After she stopped crying, she’d sprawl out in the tall grass, staring up at the sky and reflecting upon her life. She’d often wonder what her life would be like if her mother was alive. She had the delusional idea that, if she lived with her mother, everything would be perfect. Her life would be wonderful and she’d never have to cry again.
Her school life wasn’t all that bad. Though she was resented by the popular cliques for her beautiful eyes and her odd ways, she was labeled a “Mega dork” and a nerd, she made small group of close friends. She loved them like they were life itself, and they loved her back. They always knew how she felt and she told them everything. They really where the only ones keeping her alive- without them she fears she would commit suicide. She got great grades and was respected and loved by the majority of teachers, occasionally becoming the teacher’s pet.
Drawing and other artistic pursuits was her passion. She carried a folder with her artwork in it, some half-finished, other detailed, and many “on hiatus” as she said. Many attributed her talent for drawing to her unlimited imagination. Some said she was just crazy (usually the aforementioned cliques). She enjoyed showing off her art, but would become modest and bashful when complimented. In her group of friends, she had a special place. She was the artist, entertainer, and general ‘jack-of-all-trades’. But what she loved most was the entertainment she got from her friends. They always made her laugh with their many conversations and hilarious antics. That’s why she loved seeing them- laughing made her temporarily forget her pain.
The next year, when Mikazuki was in seventh grade, was when the fighting between her parents reached a climax. They decided upon a divorce, and Mikazuki’s adopted mother was given custody of her. They moved into an apartment without a yard. Mikazuki no longer had a place to go cry. So she took to the habit of holding in her tears and bottling up negative emotions, a very unhealthy thing to do. She lived that way for a while, slowly resenting her adopted mother for divorcing her adopted father. They drifted apart; Mikazuki no longer shared her feelings with her, and became increasingly impatient with her. This went on until her freshmen year in high school, when she finally reached the breaking point. She got into an argument with her mother and simply walked out of the house. In emotional pain and still holding in her tears, she wandered along a trail near her house until she was a mile or two away. She then huddled under a tree, hugged her knees, and screamed through her sobs and tears. She screamed in pain. She screamed in anger. She screamed in frustration. Why couldn’t she have spoken up over the years? She could’ve stopped some of the arguments. She could’ve shared her feelings about everything with her parents. She might’ve even been able to stop them from getting a divorce. But all she did was make things worse with her silence.
Unbeknownst to her, the noise of her screams had attracted the attention of a cougar. In a matter of seconds, her life was over. She put up no struggle; in fact, she had no idea what happened until she was a spirit, watching her own body being devoured by the cougar and the carcass being dragged away. In shock and not sure what to do next, she started wandering. Without being able to talk to her friends, she began to lose her will to live. She noticed that when she tugged on the chain connected to her chest, it hurt horribly, so, she figured, if she pulled it out her life would end. So she tugged and pulled, clenching her teeth and crying out from the agony, until it finally came free. When she became a hollow, she had a brief respite from life. Her mind almost completely shut down, to be replaced by an unquenchable hunger for souls and other hollows.
Her life as a normal hollow went by quickly. She was a very efficient hunter, a lithe hollow with a canine-like mask and needle-sharp wings made of just the skeletal structure. Since the wings had no feather or membrane, she couldn’t use them to fly. So instead she used them to stab her victims and any shinigami that dared to challenge her. Her speed and ferocity were useful in many battles, and she evolved quickly. Eventually she went to Hueco Mundo through the Garganta and took part in the mass frenzies of hollows devouring hollows. Slowly her conscious returned, until she had evolved into an adjucha. Her adjucha form was a wolf-like creature on two legs, with bird talons, spikes, and bone wings as her primary form of offense. But her form of defense was her large furry tail. The black fur on her tail can harden into spikes; she then can swing her tail to block an attack, hopefully damaging the attacker in the process.
She found followers eventually who may have even become friends. She talked to them and shared things with them, and they actually listened. For the first time in years, she was happy. They laughed together and killed together. They were a fearless and frightening group. But then, a more powerful adjucha surprised them with an ambush. She was too quick for it, and ran away, later returning to the spot and grieving for several days, then finally deciding to end her life once and for all. Desperately she gripped the edges of her mask and dug her talons in, silent tears streaming through the eye holes of her mask. Despite the excruciating pain, she dug her talons in until cracks appeared on the surface of the mask. With one last shriek of pain, she tore the mask away, and her reishi spiked and surrounded her in a wave of dark gray rimmed with turquoise and red. The horrible pain and exhaustion was too much for her, and she collapsed in the sand, an arrancar at last.
When she finally awoke a day later, she held her head in her hands, confused. When she examined her hands and body, she looked… human. But why? Was she finally dead? No. She was still in her own little sandy hell. She was relieved to find that her hunger was satisfied, and she ran her fingers over her hollow hole, curious about her new body. What sort of abilities did she have now? The new arrancar got up, eyes determined. First, she would test her new abilities on the adjuches that killed her companions. As she started walking towards the direction the adjuches had gone, she noticed a dull clank coming from her back every time she took a step. She reached back and felt the grip of something. Pulling it from the sheath, she grinned viciously at her special weapon. It was a boomerang with very sharp edges and points. Simple yet lethal. She tested it out, fitting her hand through the handle and swinging her arm in various ways. One way to cut. Another to bash. A third to block. After a few minutes of this, she got bored and started jogging, the boomerang still on her arm.
It took weeks, but she finally caught up to him. In fact, he was doing the same thing as when she last saw him. Preying on an unsuspecting victim. Anger overtook her logical thoughts, and she ran towards him at full speed, screaming her rage and throwing the boomerang. The adjuches looked up, surprised, and then narrowly avoided the boomerang. Frustrated, Mikazuki flailed her arms towards the adjuches, shouting “No, you stupid thing! Hit that guy! Kill him” To her utter disbelief, it obeyed, turning mid flight as she flailed her arms toward the unlucky adjuches. He was hit in the neck, already disintegrating by the time she figured out that she could control the boomerang with her arm. She jerked her arm sharply back and caught the boomerang as it zipped toward her. Satisfied and unsure what to do next, she collapsed in the sand and took a nap.
Upon awakening, she found a mass of hollows surrounding her, hungry looks in their eyes as they gathered ever closer. Sighing, Mikazuki leapt to her feet, eyeing them all wearily. “Look, I don’t want any trouble. Let me through and ya live.” She said nonchalantly, even though she knew most didn’t understand her. One hollow from behind her decided it was a good time for a surprise attack. It pounced for her back. Bad move. She caught one of its arms and flipped it down onto the ground in front of her. The sheer force of hitting the ground caused it to disintegrate. Taking out her boomerang, she commenced killing the weak little hollows. It was great training for her, but she was soon bored with it. She fought until they wised up and fled, then started wandering through the desert again.
A tall dome structure stood out in El Desierto Del Infinito. Curious and very surprised, she explored around it. She found many arrancar just like herself, but never went up to them, spying from a distance. Thanks to her low reiryoku, none seemed to notice her. Huge battles started when shinigami came to Hueco Mundo. She watched all of them with interest, even picking up on a few abilities like Sonido and Cero. She tried imitating their moves and abilities, and was never bored watching them fighting. It didn’t really matter to her who won. It was all just amusement. When Las Noches fell, she resumed wandering the desert, drawing in the notepad she had found in a compartment on her boomerang sheath and trying to find other arrancar. To this day she’s still wandering.
Zanpakuto Information
crescentwhisker.deviantart.com/art/Caza-Demonio-248323902
Zanpakuto Name: Caza Demonio (Hunting Demon)
Release Phrase: Sustantivo en agonia (Screech in Agony)
Sealed Description:
- Length: 3 ft long(straight line from point to point), 1 ft wide (at the widest part)
An unusual weapon, Mikazuki’s zanpakuto is in the form of a boomerang with a grip on the right side and a handle in the middle on the back. While the grip is, of course, for throwing the boomerang, the handle means it can also function as a shield or a bashing weapon. The boomerang is light gray with black and white triangle patterns and red tips. All in all, it’s not the most outstanding or noticeable weapon, nor is it elegant or majestic. But, it is a weapon, and as such, its main function is in battle.
When thrown, it makes a complete arc in any direction, even vertically, and returns to Mikazuki without fail, even when striking an enemy. This is thanks to an invisible string of reishi attached to her zanpakuto, allowing her to return it back to her hand or direct it to other places mid-flight- albeit using exaggerated arm movements that jerk in the direction the zanpakuto goes, making her look extremely awkward. As a shield, it is extremely durable, withstanding the most vicious attacks. The only downside is its small surface area, meaning she has to move the shield very precisely in order to block an attack.
The boomerang’s sheathe is located on her back. It’s a single black strap that fits around her zanpakuto’s middle. A secret compartment holds her notepad and pencil, and the strap is decorated with trims of turquoise and red.
Resurreccion Description:
To go into her Resurreccion form, she throws her boomerang straight up while calling out its release phrase. A black, turquoise, and red wave of reishi emanates from her zanpakuto, and a hole in the middle appears. As it continues in its arc, the air whistling through the hole produces a high-pitched screeching sound, and then hits Mikazuki in the back. Instead of hurting her, though, it appears to be absorbed into her body, and reishi surrounds her, dispersing a few seconds later to reveal her new form.
A significantly more intimidating form, her Resurrection is a sight to behold. Her hair grows longer and wilder and the back of her half-shirt lengthens into a shredded cape. Her bare feet are replaced with fierce black raven-like talons, and a zigzagging black line of scales go up the sides of her legs. Her thighs are still covered by her shorts, which now have a black stripe on the top rim. Spikes run along her spine, shoulder blades, and the back of her hips, and a large furry tail about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide at the widest part extends from her tailbone, coming out from a hole in her shorts and cape.
Her hands now have long black nails and a black spike on each knuckle. Her mask’s spikes and ears grow longer, and a bottom-jaw-like extension extends down to her jawline and stops at her mouth, a black rhombus-tooth on each extension. Four long black horns sprout from the top of her mask, and the black eyeholes in the middle expand, and even take on a more enraged look. The tooth-like structures on the bottom of her mask turn black, and the red triangle marks below her change into a shape that looks somewhat like a sideways hourglass. Her black bone structure wings are attached at her shoulders. They can stretch out to twice the length of her arms, and the ends are razor sharp.
Mikazuki’s face takes on a much more animalistic look to it, her teeth pointier and her eyes ferocious. Her form becomes more lithe and predatory, and her muscles become defined, giving her a dangerous look. The black ties that were on her limbs meld into her clothing, becoming black stripes, and the stripe above her bust instead forms around her red gem. Speaking of which, her jewel expands slightly, and an aura of gray and turquoise reishi surrounds it.
Functionality:
Many functions of her Resurreccion are easy to guess. For instance, her new bird talons and sharp nails are for slashing apart her opponent if she must engage in close combat. Her talons, in fact, are more commonly used then her hands because of her fondness for them and their general lethalness. She’ll use her talons to block many attacks, and even catch punches, sword swings, or anything thrown at her. The spikes on her knuckles enhance the damage inflicted on an enemy if punched, and her bone wings can be used for both attack and defense, thanks to their ability to stretch out or lock together. Like in her original hollow form, her tail’s fur can harden into spikes, making it her key method of defense. But, unlike her original hollow form, she can launch the spikes on her tail. She can only do it one time each time she goes into her Resurreccion form, though, since the fur does not grow back very quickly.
Abilities:
Name: Cero (Hollow Flash)
Class: Offensive
Range: Long
Description: A heavy, wide energy blast emitted from the hand, mouth, or some other body part. Cero are highly destructive and can vary greatly from user to user, able to be fired in a thin column or a wide cone-shaped emanation as appropriate to the situation, and specialists in Cero have been known to change their color. The damaging aspects of a Cero are partly heat and burning energy (not fire) and partly physical concussive force
Name: Sonido (Sound Ceremony)
Class: Utility
Range: Personal
Description: The Arrancar’s signature movement technique, using extreme speed and acceleration to overcome the eye’s capacity to trace movement. This ability can be used to travel quickly from one place to another, or in combat by a skilled practitioner to get a jump on the enemy. Using this skill repeatedly over the course of a battle is ill-advised, as it does not take long for the opponent’s eyes to adjust to the high-speed movement. An Arrancar’s sonido is distinguished by it’s rough static buzz, which gives a vague impression of its speed.
Name: Pesquisa (Probe Circuit)
Class: Utility
Range: Personal
Description: Unlike the natural sense for Reiryoku that all spiritual entities have, Pesquisa allows an Arrancar to directly gauge the strength and position of spiritual beings through concentration. Using a wave or current of Reiatsu like a sonar, the user can identify the intensity of a single target’s Reiryoku or the rough location of a large number of spiritual entities in a given area, depending on the focus of the ability.
Name: Garganta (Black Cavity)
Class: Utility
Range: Close
Description: This ability creates a dimensional opening to the Dangai space, used by Arrancar to travel to and from Hueco Mundo. Garganta is characterized by it’s rough, tearing appearance, as opposed to the very structured Senkaimon used by Shinigami
Combat Information
Reiryoku Level: 9
Character Dynamic:
Mikazuki’s combat style is based on long range attacks and avoiding the opponent’s offensive actions. A common tactic of hers is throwing her boomerang and constantly changing its direction to strike from different angles. Or, if the opponent tries to evade the boomerang, she makes sure it keeps chasing them, keeping them on the defensive until she can get close and use a cero. If, however, her enemy takes the offensive and tries to hit her from long range, she’ll attempt to avoid the attacks any way she can.
Because she’s a pretty new and inexperienced arrancar, her close combat skills leave something to be desired. She’s mediocre in the strength category, but fairly speedy when throwing punches and kicks. Her fighting style when in close combat mostly consist of blocking with her boomerang, holding it in the way of her opponent’s attack and pushing forward slightly, hoping to knock them off-balance. If that works and they are off-balance, she’ll use that moment to her advantage and swipe at her enemy with the edge of her boomerang. Any time she knows she has some sort of advantage or her enemy has a moment of weakness, she’ll strike.
When in Resurreccion form, her tactics change dramatically. Instead of using long range attacks, she gets in close and uses her bone structure wings. Her wings extend to twice her arm length, meaning she still doesn’t have to get too close to her opponent in order to strike them. Along with her wings, she also uses her legs to kick her opponent, her bird talons guaranteeing extra damage when her kicks connect. When her opponent attacks, she goes completely on the defensive. She can use her tail, wings, feet, even her hands to block attacks.
Her last resort attack also works as defense. She curls up in a ball, her tail covering her front and her spikes covering her back. She can then use this as her best defense against bare-fisted or sword attacks. She can also jump into the air; curl up, then attempt to impale her opponent on her back spikes.

crescentwhisker.deviantart.com/art/Drawing-Pad-248329618
Drawing Pad and Reishi Pencil:
In some ways, her drawing pad is essential to her survival. Without it, she fears she would die of boredom. Her drawing pad is black hardcover with lineless white paper. Her paper never seems to run out, and, instead of lead, her pencil uses reishi to imprint and erase things on the paper. All sorts of doodles and comics are drawn in her drawing pad, some quickly jotted down, others drawn in great detail. Whenever boredom strikes, she takes it out from the secret compartment in her zanpakuto sheath.
