Physical Description:
A stone beauty by general observation, Amaya is a patient and cautious character in her actions, while innocent and rationing in her emotions. Her small build and slender figure would present her to being a much younger woman than she really is, though this is disregarded by her defined feminine features. She maintains a small tone to her curved body, defined in areas of common practice rather than extensive focus. Her long hair and fair face leaving her as a distinguished woman at the common glance. Her body language spells something which counters her very feminine appearance; with strides to steps leaving no tilt or bob in her posture, rather a restrained sway and close footing which leave little effect to the environment in her presence. This characteristic follows her through most of her actions, withdrawn though precise in bodily movements, her confined emotions sometimes break through with the occasional skip in her step, though focuses on a much more quiet approach than most when with common company.
In regards to features, her most evident facial aspect would be her hair. It's a rich pink and often left in many different styles, though more commonly scruffy; it is in her habit to change its general appeal quite often. Her other key feature would be her eyes, large and pronounced with thick eye-lashes. Their colour are completely flushed, leaving barely a gray surface to differ the Iris from the rest of the eye itself. The rest of her face remains relatively small in size; a small nose which provides a slight curve to her face, small lips, colourless enough to nearly blend with her slightly pale skin-tone. Her brows are trimmed and thin, her ears pulled back though of quite a large structure mostly hidden by the bundles of pink hair. Her body bears one tattoo, a design of multiple origins symbolising the family heritage over the generations, spanning from her shoulder to her elbow. Her body is also riddled with scars, though due to healing have become barely visible. The largest spans across her face from her jaw-line to her forehead.
Her clothing is as diverse as that of her hair-styles, though specific in regards to restrictions with Shinigami robes. The robes themselves are coated in waves of material of different sizes, overlapping the robes themselves to make the general attire appear more colourful and artistic. These materials span up her chest and neck, leaving underneath her robes a loosely fitting dress covering low cut shorts and a tightly wrapped tube top, these being undergarments to accompany her traditional Shinigami. Her arms are covered by bandages as well as her legs, evident through her robes as well as by her cut sleeves, leaving them to only dangle as far as the elbows.
Personal Information
Personality Overview:
Amaya is in simple terms quite two-faced when it comes to her general persona. Where one side of her remains evident from her past, the other seeks to replace it, leaving somewhat of a mental conflict if not a slight multiple personality disorder in her thoughts and actions. Her natural self resides as the part of her which she was born into, a high-headed self-confident woman who takes pride in independence and accomplishment, pushing forward with a try-hard approach rather than that of a steady and collected one. Her personality is somewhat of a counter to her nature, where her voice attempts to obtain dominance despite its soft tone, and an aggressive appeal is portrayed through fair and elegant features. The urge to gain showed through her enthusiasm to learn, though as a double-edged sword her reaction to failure and obstacles is solid and without mercy on either herself or the cause. This may have left her being very strong willed and determined, though a slippery slope in regards to social activity. This is who she was from the beginning, a different self has began to emerge ahead of it.
Her other side is self-restraining, the enthusiasm of her former self hides behind an obedient and patient attitude. Never one to withdraw from questioning something she feels is wrong, though in comparison maintains a lot more of herself naturally, rather than unleashing herself upon the world one hundred and ten percent. A calm and collected state of mind allows her to speak more truthfully and respectively to others, leaving her opinions of them at the door and her emotions socially friendly. Though mentally Amaya seems somewhat in conflict with herself she has learned to form a middle-ground between her two conflicting persona's though still finds difficulty in approaching people without resorting to outbursts or simply remaining silent.
She leaves little time to examine her opinions of that outside her mind, leaving her to be very neutral and fair to any kind of affairs. When things begin to get too personal in any kind of event her true self will emerge to deal with it, as she feels once it becomes even the slightest bit her problem she must deal with it personally and immediately. This produces her care-free attitude in regards to general happenings, leaving her to be very narrow-minded in her tasks, though in opposite very reluctant to pursue or even care about anything outside of her own little world. Her persona stretches little onto any kind of social life, so when it comes to communication she is very quiet, almost appearing to be somewhat nervous at times, though can commonly be corrected by an outburst of her more arrogant self. She always prefers to listen rather than speak, as to completely know of a situation is to know how to turn it to your advantage. This leaves her with a collection of friends who chose her, rather than the other way around; people willing to put up with her and in turn are granted a glance at her true self. Without any means of conflict sprouting between her and the person, she has nothing but respect and friendship towards them.
As a wall riddled with holes, her defence shields others from her common aggressive attitude, failures, and excuses of the past. She prefers to leave them unsaid rather than allow them to be acknowledged by anyone. Though just as her previous problems emerged in time, as does she as a person if you get close enough to her. Once she sees the opportunity she would mentally cling to whatever she feels she can share her thoughts with, whether it be a person or an object. She tends to keep herself more realistic the closer someone gets to her, leaving her shame to be more of something you didn't ask, rather than something she doesn't want to talk about.
Character Time-line:
The Adachi name has somewhat of a reputation within the Soul Society as a family in which all of their members have served within the Soul Society’s military branches. As the name has passed on, every son and daughter has continued with the intention of holding onto the last name regardless of their partners previous ties, and have spanned over many divisions and sectors in their vast family history. This history continues with an interesting case, and a talented addition to the Adachi family tree.
Katuso and Mayo Adachi were the parents of a new born girl named Amaya. To the common soul society citizen the idea of a child being born into a family in which both of their parents were of the Gotei 13 sounded almost impossible in regards to taking care of the child. Katuso was a standing member of the 9th Division, and Mayo was an accomplished medical Shinimgami of the 4th. The task of serving both the society and their own child was a task they had been training for in their own way for years. The training was no doubt needed as Amaya proved to be nothing but the troublesome tyke, unknown to the responsibility that she would carry when she grew older.
A normal childhood as far as being the child to two Shinigami was bestowed upon Amaya, as her parents began to teach her at a very young age in aims to help along the advancement process. From the subtle to the extreme, she was trained on all fronts in attempt to prepare her for anything that she may show promise towards in the future, and proved to be a slow process, much to their surprise. Amaya's stubborn intentions clouded her training and her practice was dulled in comparison to her father who was in the academy 10 years before her. 50 years had passed and as her skills emerged she believed she was ready to proceed into the academy, though unlike some a lot more was depending on her success. Like generations of Adachi before her, her entire family name relied on her passing the test and continuing the tradition. She knew none the less that her parents believed in her, and with such a burden on her shoulders she was more driven than ever.
As presumed by the ever so confident Amaya the test was passed with ease, after 50 years of training she could finally proceed towards her destiny within the academy, and she planned to do this with no expense paid. Her determination was unmatched, her dedication was nothing less than a child looking to fulfil the wishes of her parents, as well as her own hidden intentions. The Academy recognised her for one of the cases often seen within long training individuals, without a zanpakuto she was nothing but raw power itching to be harnessed. Her training were of things her parents had gone to extent of preparing her for earlier on in her life. New subjects were simply re-rooting old advice though none the less learning new things, simply learning them ease. It wasn’t long before she was granted her Asauchi, and though she was proving to be more than advanced in the ways of the Shinigami, more so than others, she felt almost intimidated by it. It was a luring presence, a energy which cannot be tapped until an unknown requirement was met within her mind. It was something which dug away at her, the lack of knowledge, the sword was supposed to reveal itself once the user was ready, she felt ready, she was ready. Despite her desperation for power, realisation and progression ate away at her mental state as she proceeded to blindly throw herself through the years education ahead, as the expectations of her did nothing but place looming eyes over her every move.
It was her forth year of her education in the academy. To those teaching her she was considered somewhat of a genius, though the rage to pursue power flooded the back of her mind, and sensed the potential. Yet her teachers still sensed taint within her actions. Many fast achievers have no need to continue progressing within the academy, and even to the extremes people have done as much as leave within their first two years. Confident that she had learned all she could from the academy, she requested a move into one of the divisions, the sooner she could move into the real world the sooner she could become stronger. She felt in her mind that with her power all the skills of a shinigami were at her disposal, she just needed the chance to prove herself. Her plan was crushed in a single act as the teachers advised her to stay and finish her training for the sake of being able to properly harness her abilities. Her attempts to work on all fronts of the Shingami styles had left her too stretched, and incapable of providing any assistance in her current condition."The advice was sound, true in fact, though she refused to see it that way.
The Academy was out to get her, that was the only logical explanation. They saw her talent and were afraid that she would advance beyond them, keeping her under chains was the best they could do to contain such a genius. She needed to prove herself to everyone, prove her skills outside the academy, and her worth to the Gotei. Amaya took a stroll the next day, outside the walls of the academy and into the forests of the outskirts of Rukongai. She was going to do what Shinigami's do all the time, and she was going to do it with ease.
She waltzed around the forest more vulnerable than bait, expecting the easy prey to come and serve itself on a silver platter, sadly she was met with a much more intimidating enemy. Through the forest trenched an adversary she could not have expected; arms larger than it's entire body, hunched over as it's small legs barely held the giant upper body upon it. The giant beast spared no time ask of her name or her tactics, and her only reply was a terrified stare. It was over before she even came to her senses that it had begun, thrown around like a rag-doll as the starving hollow softened up its already weak prey and landed the final strike, all went black, and the sounds of the forest under the heavy thumps of the hollow drifted to silence. She awoke in a place she didn't know, the place was a blur of nothing but black blue as the voices around were crystal clear. Shinigami had been investigating the forests when they had stumbled upon her in what she would call conflict, though they would call the hollow simply preparing his meal. She was rushed back to the inner-city where she was immediately treated and barely survived, though the final blow from the hollow had caused damage even the medics could not care for. With the poison of the hollow suspended within her they could only stop it from spreading, though from the placement of the attack the damage had already been done. The attack had blinded her.
The road to recovery was difficult, as the medics attempted to find ways to cure her of the poison her father pleaded to hunt the Hollow down, in hopes its body may contain to cure to his daughters crisis, but they refused. Their families name had been spat upon by their own child, destroyed in a single reckless act, though they refused to give up on their daughter. Her father returned once more with a plea to re-purpose their family, based on progression through the Academy Amaya had to proceed to continue a heritage so literal that it was tattooed to her arm. The Academy allowed her to return under the circumstance that she would begin anew, as if she had never been there in the first place, almost as if she was coming back as a new person. And so she did.
It took being blinded to force the idea of patience over determination into her head, and though she still possessed that raw power to proceed, she now had the means to use it. Her previous training had become all but useless, she had not mastered enough of any branch despite her talent, leaving her without the experience to be able to simply pick it up once more thanks to her now obvious disadvantage. Though like anyone would do in her situation, she adapted without question, and remained a quiet pupil. She would learn again, even if it meant being in the academy for the rest of her life. Without special treatment or a helping hand her skills began to focus down the road of Kido. The demon arts allowed her to use all of her power which was previously clouded by obsession, and with it she learned control, patience. As the years changed her talent began to change and grow, along with her as a person.
After 10 collective years Ayama successfully completed the academy, and much to everyone’s surprise she chose to request admittance into the first division, she believed that her story is one worth continuing, and how she advanced this far despite he many obstacles. The Gotei saw her as a power-house and a talented user of Kido, and regardless of her previous actions, over the six years she has trained herself to substantial potential. With a now obedient persona the first Division could easily mould her into a influential figure, making sure to pluck out the small emergences of her former self along the way. though many officials frowned upon the idea, her request was accepted, she had the potential to become something far greater than the majority imagined from that girl who failed in trying to prove herself all those years ago, and she had a lot of time to practice.
Her time within the First Division had so far been basic, it was insisted that she needed to continue training in order to fully be able to master both her Kido abilities and that of her only way of vision through spiritual presence. Stirs of accepting a mad woman into the ranks of something so high as the first division was the common mumble about the Seireitei, many felt she didn't deserve it let alone have the ability to match, though she was determined to prove them wrong once more, though this time with purpose. 40 years passed and Amaya was left to train and hone her skills, being given simple skirmishes though met with brutal requirements as any first division subordinate was requested of them. She was trained to control herself, remain patient and above all focus. And now finally believes that she has began her road of progression within the society.
