Physical Description:
The first things one would notice about Arianna is her short and petite figure. She stands at about four feet eleven inches and can almost always be seen with her trademark smirk. She has long, dark mahogany hair with natural lighter chestnut highlights that reaches about midthigh. She has two side plaits woven into her hair that she can be seen constantly unbraiding and fixing. Her eyes are a dark violet with subtle undertones of crimson that are brought out in the silvery light of the moon. Her shihakusho is fitted to be less baggy and allow for greater movement. Her zanpakuto is strapped to her back by a white silk sash. Her zanpakuto faces downward so that the hilt is by her right hip. The sheath of her zanpakuto is ebony with ivory patterning. While not on duty and within the Soul Society, she can be seen wearing a dark blue kimono with silver threading.
While in the human world, she wears a red jacket with a white diamond design down the arms over a white shirt, a black skirt that reaches just above the knees and white laced up boots to match her white gloves. Around her neck is a simple silver chain with a single crystal pendant. The pendant itself is a red ruby with silver intricate patterning along its sides. The necklace is always tucked under her shirt except when she's repairing the chain or cleaning it.
Personal Information
Personality Overview:
Headstrong and reckless, Arianna is always rushing into a dangerous situation without thinking it through. Most of the time she'll even make the situation worse by taunting people. She always has a smart remark to say about anything and anyone and can always find something to comment on. She always speaks her mind, no matter the consequences and it usually leads to trouble. Her habit of disregarding what others say tends to lead to her acting all high and mighty. She acts very much like a child and needs constant supervision or she might end up in more trouble then she can handle. She'll never ask for help, because her pride won't let her and she sees it as a weakness.
Although she has an "act first, questions later" type of personality, she can be quite perceptive in certain situations. She is attentive to details even though she doesn't seem like it. Usually when she rushes head first into something, she will spend a few rounds just trying to analyze someone or something's movements. Even outside of situations like that she is attentive to detail almost to the point of OCD. Everything has to be in its place, if it isn't she will go out of her way to fix it. In social situations, she is quite awkward. She doesn't quite understand how she's supposed to act, so she just acts like her normal self instead of being like people want her to be. She has a tendency to be bluntly honest about everything even if it hurts someone. In other words, she doesn't realize that she's hurt someone. The concept of lying fails her and even the youngest of people can tell when she's lying on the rare occasion that she does.
In a formal situation, it would be best to leave her home. She will constantly berate the people around her and speak out of turn until someone decides to silence her. Even in a formal setting, she will still speak her mind as if the brain to mouth filter doesn't exist and sometimes, though not usually, it can be useful. She does hold back some, not all, of her sarcasm and remarks until after a formal situation but still she'll somehow find a way to make someone look bad or feel bad. Its not something intentional, it just happens. Without someone around to keep her in check, she acts the childish little kid and causes all sorts of mischief and mayhem just to get some sort of attention.
Although she doesn't show it much, she does have a softer and more gentle side. She's always hiding behind her rude and sarcastic mask and only those who can see that and befriend her anyway will ever see the person she is behind the sarcasm. Behind the mask, she's a caring person, willing to defend the people she holds close to her and protect the things she sees are important. She hates to be alone and often will hide that fact behind some sort of remark. She isn't too big on respecting people but once someone earns her respect, she'll do pretty much anything they ask, even if she has a few choice words to say on the subject. She tends to be a little, not a lot, more polite and soft spoken around the people she either respects or admires. She doesn't appear to be a soft or even kind hearted person but catch her off guard and who knows...
Character Time-line:
Arianna was the second child born to an upper class family from Northern Ireland. She was born in 1939, just five years after her elder brother was born. Only a month before she was born, Germany invaded Poland and soon after the UK went to war with Germany. Being from Northern Ireland, her father left and joined the military effort against Germany. Before he left, he asked his wife one thing. He asked her to take the kids and go to her ancestral home. With that in mind, Arianna's mother, fled taking both Arianna and her elder brother, Hiroki to her family's shrine just outside of Kyoto, Japan. Here it was peaceful. Here it was safe.
Growing up, Arianna had spent most of her time with her brother, often following him around like every normal little kid does when they look up to an elder sibling. Although neither of them went to a formal school, they were taught things like respect from an early age and were home schooled when it came to everything else. During the days where her mother would teach, Arianna would constantly let her mind drift and not pay attention. On the rare occasion that her mother's teachings did catch her attention, she would pay close attention and memorize the lesson with ease. But she was at a young age, where legends and myths were fascinating and where she'd rather be outside instead of being stuck inside in a class. It was always obvious to her mother when she was daydreaming but instead of taking an action against it, her mother would find a more creative way to teach. Most of the time, her mother would try to teach her through something she liked, as it was the easiest way to get her to learn things. Even though she was still young she did enjoy helping her brother with his work and even helping her mother with simple things like cooking. She was taught like this until she reached the age of eight, then her mother started getting sick.
It started with what appeared to be a common cold. It was something that both Arianna and Hiroki were told to ignore because "it was nothing" or "it'll go away". Like good little kids they listened and went outside to continue their own little practice sessions. While their mother had been teaching them things like grammar, math, and the value of hard work, Hiroki was teaching his sister the value of having fun while you do something boring. The two of them were very competitive with each other, always trying to see who was better so Hiroki took advantage of that and began to teach her archery. Every day after Hiroki took his sister outside to practice on either her form or her aim, they would go back inside and check on their mother. They carried on like this for a matter of a few months, every day the coughing would grow gradually worse. One day while Arianna was outside working on what her brother had taught her, Hiroki was inside with their mother. He was keeping an eye on her because her fever had gotten worse along with the coughing. The coughing had gotten bad enough that she was coughing up blood. Though Hiroki knew, he didn't tell his sister. He thought it best to reassure her that all was well and that their mother would be just fine. Believing in what her brother told her, Arianna continued practicing in the daytime and at night she would return indoors to check on her mother before going to her room. Lying awake in her room, she would listen for the strange sound that she had heard for as long as she could remember. It was a painful howling that echoed through the night, sending chills up her spine. It wasn't a sound any normal animal would make but it was frightening enough for her to remain indoors, too terrified to sleep. Hugging her knees to her chest, she tried to ignore the roaring of whatever beast it was and go to sleep.
About a week before her birthday, her mother's heart began to falter before giving out entirely. Hiroki had been outside tending the fields when Arianna ran out of the house to him. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she informed her brother about their mother. Wanting to see the truth for himself, Hiroki walked into the house and to their mother's room. He stood in the doorway and looked at what had happened, his expression pure shock, as if his heart had been shattered. That same night, both Arianna and Hiroki began to dig a grave for their mother when the howling started up again. When she heard the haunting roar, she froze, letting the shovel drop to the ground. She covered her ears and shook her head, her eyes closed and barely being able to withhold in a scream at the howl that had haunted her for years. Her brother looked at her as if she was crazy and told her to go inside. Her head snapped up at his words and her gaze grew distant, almost cold. She quickly turned away from him and went inside as she was told. He didn't want her help. Not now. Not anymore.
As time passed, Arianna still visited her mother's grave on a regular basis, every afternoon except on weekends. On weekends she visited in the morning. Arianna had grown distant after her mother's passing. She barely could stand the presence of her brother and often grew angry at the way he treated her. He treated her like a child, even though she was eleven, almost twelve. The loving family they'd once had was gone and all that remained was a shattered, twisted mockery of what once was. They constantly fought. Day after day. Night after night. They fought because she was crazy, at least he thought so.
On the day of her twelfth birthday, they got into the biggest fight they'd ever had and it ultimately ended with the two of them saying, "I hate you" and "i wish you'd just die" to one another. Angry, Arianna stormed to her room and remained there for the day. While she stayed locked in her room, she started to draw on the walls. It was something to distract her mind from the thoughts running through her. Time consuming and calming, she only stopped when she realized that it had gotten too dark for her to continue. Outside, her brother was far out in the field cutting down the dying husks of plants to prepare for a new crop. He'd had plenty of time to consider what had been said and regret and remorse filled him. As he walked back to the house he would feel as if someone was watching him but he would notice nothing. Arianna on the other hand, glanced out the window as she picked up the remnants of her drawings and saw the shadow of her brother approaching as well as a large and strange figure in the shadows with glowing yellow eyes. She shook her head and walked away from the window, thinking it was just her imagination, and headed to the kitchen. The first thing that caught her attention was a small, black box with a blue ribbon tied around it sitting on the table. Curious, she walked over to the table and picked up the box. A small piece of paper with writing was attached to the ribbon. She pulled the piece of paper from the ribbon and was about to read it when she heard the same roar she had heard for so long, very nearby, almost as if it was right outside. What happened next was a blur of colors, smoke, and the noise of smashing wood as a giant shadowy fist smashed through the house, throwing Hiroki through the house and knocking Arianna through a couple walls. Hiroki sustained a fatal injury from the attack and died from blood loss while Arianna was knocked unconscious. The last thing she saw before she had lost consciousness was a figure clad in black killing the shadowy beast.
She was unconscious for about four days, waking up to find herself in a place she didn't recognize right away. The room was white and smelled of bleach. The lights hurt her eyes so much she shielded them from the light so she could see. IVs were in her arms, hurting everytime she so much as fidgeted. From what she could see she was in a hospital and someone had brought her there. She didn't know who had done that but she didn't really care. She thought about what had happened and a tear slid down her cheek. She had seen the blood. She had seen what happened. She knew her brother was dead but that wasn't what hurt. It was the fact that she had said something out of anger that she really hadn't meant. She put her hand down to stop shielding her eyes and looked over at the side table. The tiny black box sat on there, almost as if it mocked her. Gritting her teeth she pulled the IVs out of her arm and sat up, swinging her legs over the side of the hospital bed. She picked up the box and threw it across the room. Angry at what had happened but even more angry at herself for all the foul words she had yelled at her brother. She looked back at where she had thrown the box and saw it lying on the floor, opened, its contents spilled. Sliding off the bed she made her way slowly and shakily to the box and its contents. She knelt down and picked up the fine silver chain that had spilled out of the box along with another piece of paper. She opened the paper and read its message quickly before allowing the paper to fall out of her grasp. As the paper touched the ground, she began feeling lightheaded again for only a moment before her world faded to darkness.
Almost a year after the destruction of her home and what was left of her family, she moved into a quiet little town called Karakura Town. It was different from what she had grown up around and posed a challenge to adapt. She enrolled in middle school and was beginning to hope that she had gotten far away from the madness of the strange shadow monsters. She had found a place to live and was starting to settle in easily even though this town still frightened her. She walked to and from everywhere she needed or wanted to go. On most of her walks, she noticed people talking into a crowd trying to get their attention but no one paid them any mind. Occasionally, she would stop and talk to one of them, not really caring who saw her or what any onlookers thought. She continued to talk to them for days, as it seemed to ease her mind a bit. On the night of her thirteenth birthday, she was walking home from the park while talking to one of the random spirits she'd come across. She listened intently as the spirit told her a story about some sort of monster that usually chased the spirits to eat them. As the spirit told her the story, she couldn't help but think of her brother's death. She couldn't help but blame herself even if it was the monster who had killed him. Lost in thought, she walked into a small store hoping to find something nice to put on the graves of both her mother and her brother. She was busy looking through the merchandise when a group of four robbers barged into the store. They were all armed with guns and three of them held up the customers while the fourth attacked the cashier. The cashier died trying to call the police and after the robbers had gotten the money they wanted, they gunned down every living person in the store.
After her death that night, she didn't find the "peace" that most people believed one found after death. Instead she found herself wandering amongst people who could neither see nor hear her. Though she found it frustrating that no one paid her any attention, she decided to use it to her advantage. With a grin, she set off through the town, wreaking some sort of mischief or mayhem where ever she went and on the off chance she found someone who could see her, she would stop and see if they were interesting. If not, she'd just screw with their minds.
Combat Information
Reiryoku Level: 4
Character Dynamic:
Although it may not seem like it, her personality is brought out the most during combat. She uses her obnoxious and sarcastic remarks to get under the skin of her enemies. In most combat situations, even the one she rushes headfirst into, she will always play it safe until she can analyze her opponents movements and patterns. Then, she'll use what she learned to find a way to disrupt her opponents patterns. Usually she'll find a way to either annoy or frustrate her opponents long enough to distract them and make them lose focus. By doing this she finds it easier to pick people off one at a time. In the beginning of all combat situations, she'll always let her opponent attack as much as they like while evading or blocking their attacks as she constantly berates them. She always likes to get up close and personal when she fights because sometimes its just easier for her to get into someone's mind that way. Sometimes, she'll not even draw her weapon and just play it safe while harassing her opponent. The main reason she acts this way, is because she finds it amusing.
Although she excels with close quarters combat, there is a flaw in her movements. She always favors her right side, preferring to do more with her left as if she had an old wound on that side. Her abilities with kido are satisfactory at best due to her limited knowledge and lack of practice. She relies solely on sheer speed for her defense and lacks heavily in physical strength. Although she does train to get both faster and stronger, her speed is what improves the fastest while her strength improves at a much slower rate.
Reiryoku/Reiatsu Abilities:
None atm.
Significant Inventory:
Crystal Necklace- A simple silver chain with a crystalline pendant. She's not too sure why its important to her but it is. She doesn't remember anything pertaining to the necklace but without it she'd feel as if she lost a piece of herself.
I am reclaiming Arianna as my own. I was informed that the bio needed to be reposted in order to be reclaimed.
