Lhin caught the ever so small inflection of a smile upon Sakuya’s face. This smile was one that if she had to guess was brought on by a sense of relief or some other reason. Honestly she did not know nor would she truly pry into the woman’s thought process. Her mind went to the fact she trusted Sakuya even though that she had started off as just a student when the war broke out. Now she was a captain and a powerful one as well. Something about her made Lhin know she could trust her quite a lot.
Listening to her friend speak thoughtfully she nodded along with her. It was true that her age was truly her one disadvantage. While not much older than her Lhin did turn to Sakuya who was a dear friend to her for advice when her Aunt was not around. “I can feel the weight of their shadows there Sakuya… Ever bearing down on me even now, but with the war passing I felt the weight of that burden slowly begin to slip from my shoulders. My mother and her predecessor where good and just people from what I have heard. They have very large shoes to fill but I do not think I will attempt to even fill their shoes. Instead I will try and walk my own path away from their collective footsteps. We need me to do it as we cannot allow what happened in the past to happen again…”
Turning her gaze back toward her friend she smiled at the glance. Shaking her head as she heard her mention wasting up her time. It was true that it was a slight waste of time to be there but in the end of the day she was there to be around a friend not her fellow taicho. “See that is where you are wrong Sakuya. I came here to meet with my friend and see how she was adjusting to the new position. Not as the Soitaicho but as your friend. So I am here doing that and yet you still found a way to teach me something about myself… but if you wish to be left alone so you may do your evening patrols then I can go. Before you ask yes I could sense your reiatsu as you moved around the Seireitei. Maybe tonight you should visit the memorial for a short time. Sit and reflect on what we are doing for all those passed on.”
