While Kaoru knew that she had given the Captain a decent amount of her past, especially the parts that were not so nice, she had not expected him to return the action in the slightest. Nor did she ever think he would return it. Mentally shrugging to herself, she took another sip of her tea. She felt lighter, but had placed back on her mask for the time being. While it gave her some freedom, she felt her time with the Captain was coming to a close soon and it would do her well to put it back on soon so that it wouldn't be such a struggle later on when she did leave to go back into the rest of the seireitei. While she didn't need to hide herself around Hirato Murano any longer, she still felt it was best to reign in her emotions as they came lest she make a mistake in her behavior. An example that quickly came to Kaoru's mind would be accidentally calling the Captain 'Hirato-san' instead of his title. Smiling slightly to herself, she took another sip of tea as she watched the Captain walk around the room.
While Kaoru expressed her happiness over training with the Captain, she was really very nervous. While she had trained with a Captain before, it was only Kyouya and they really only trained in shunpo and zanpakto training. Kaoru would also train with Akai Tsukihime as well, but Tsukihime had a tendency to let her emotions rule the battle between them and not teach Kaoru any new techniques. Kaoru only ever learned two from Akai Tsukihime since graduating from the academy, but each time they trained together, Akai Tsukihime grew more and more bored with Kaoru. Kaoru sensed that she was about to get a whole new couple sets of abilities to go with her shikai. That thought made Kaoru excited since Akai Tsukihime tended to be temperamental and guarded with her abilities.
"Yes, I have trained with mine as well, but she is too wild and tends to not teach me any more of her abilities after awhile," Kaoru said with a small grimace. She mentally noted that once she got back to her barracks she'd have to have a long conversation with her zanpakto about some more ability training. Though, Kaoru knew for a fact that Akai Tsukihime would be a hard opponent to beat any new abilities out of. She knew this, yet the thought of fighting with her zanpakto gave her eyes a spark of excitement as well as a feeling of foreboding, though she didn't know why. The image of the small child that was her zanpakto, with her mask, white hair, and red eyes, seemed to take on a more menacing presence even though Kaoru understood her zanpakto to be more dangerous than she looked. Akai Tsukihime, even though she looks to be about 12 and innocent, happens to be very bloodthirsty and mischievous when taken into battle or even something as little as training. Akai Tsukihime has no gates when it comes to her emotions and thoughts, something that Kaoru often tries to reign in when using her zanpakto.
When Kaoru turned her hearing back to the Captain, who had looked around in what she thought was confusion, she noticed him looking at her and then congratulating her on her promotion to the 9th seat of the 5th division. Kaoru smiled slightly at that, while she didn't like titles and ranks and merely wanted power, she knew that it was necessary within the seireitei to gain more power. She smiled and bowed towards the Captain and drank the last of her tea. As she set down the cup, she looked back up at the Captain with her blue eyes. "Thank you, Captain Murano," Kaoru said as she now stood up from her seated position and gave another proper bow to the Captain. Her politeness was less strained this time since she didn't have to hide her mask from him anymore. Now her movements seemed less ridged and more flowing as she straightened back up. "Was there a certain time that you wish for us to start tomorrow?" Kaoru asked as she looked up at the man with a small smile and her blue eyes.
