Hirato nodded approvingly when Demizu-sama agreed with him, pleased that one of them saw the wisdom in his words and confident that Nobunaga-san would fall in line, following the advice of her Captain and lover. None of them were even close to prepared to take on an entire army by themselves, not even Demizu-sama whose strength was by far the greatest in all of Soul Society. The 9th Captain had not seen the full extent of her enormous power himself and felt somewhat relieved that he had not, but the full power commanded by the diminutive Sotaicho had to be an awe-inspiring sight, one that both motivated those who worked under her leadership and terrified them as they realized just how strong their leader truly was. His cerulean eyes took in the softness in Demizu-sama's face while she spoke to Nobunaga-san, knowing that such a sight was reserved only for the Lieutenant who had found her way into Demizu-sama's heart. The man she had loved previously perished in the Winter War and she had not attempted to find someone else, a course of action he understood only too well.
Demizu-sama's reaction to his question confirmed his suspicions and made him sigh heavily, hating the thought of depending on such a bastard. What Hirato despised more about the situation was that Enigma appeared a far more reliable ally than anyone else, including the Captains and Lieutenants outside this room who very well may have played a role in Yamamoto-sama's assassination. A deep frown appeared on his face upon hearing the source of the information that had changed everything, turning his world upside down and making him suspicious, to some degree, of everyone except for Kaoru. Of course she doesn't know where he is, thought the crimson haired man evenly, not surprised that Enigma had disappeared without a trace as soon as his meeting with the Sotaicho had ended. Enigma belonged to the shadows and toiled away inside them, so whenever he left them for whatever reason, it was not long before the shadows welcomed him back again. Hirato glanced back at Demizu-sama and asked, "It might take some time, but could you arrange another meeting with him?" speaking quietly to avoid detection by whatever forces were keeping watch on the Sotaicho's residence. The 9th Captain understood the risk and potential consequences of what he was asking, but they needed assistance desperately as quickly as possible in order to have a chance."We need additional forces as soon as possible or the Central 46's minions will overwhelm us, Demizu-sama," the crimson haired man added reluctantly, not enjoying admitting that they would certainly lose in a confrontation with the Central 46's private army on their own. Even their combined power was no match for what they faced, so support was required from some force. In this case, Enigma's force was the only choice. Hirato sat back and sipped his tea, waiting to see how Demizu-sama would respond to his urgent comments.
